I am currently running Air Bags in the springs to help carry the weight when I am max loaded. This has worked extremely well for me over the last year (FYI 2 1/2 inch lift with Bilstein Shocks).

I am looking at changing the rear shocks for a more permanent solution... to the ARB Old Man Emu Heavy Duty Springs, which carry a 300 lbs load weight.

Question: Anyone have experience with these, the guys at my shop are concerned about the ride when I'm not under load?

Ya, they are pretty firm when empty. I am running AEV 2.5 XT setup, with a Helwig track bar but am switching to Metalcloak progressive rate springs. This gives you the best of both worlds, empty and heavy... comfort and functionality. The AEV's are great, I just max out my unsprung weight pretty quickly.

AEV bumpers
Roof rack
AEV/Rancho skids
Full Fishbone steps/rails
Smitty tire carrier/hinge
I weigh 305lbs and my dog is 175lbs. Add my other two dogs and my wife, a full tank of fuel, plus gear, and it rides soft and rebounds poorer than I would like.
