I submitted a permit request for September of this year yesterday but im afraid I probably botched it up lol. I want to be in the Grand Canyon for about 5-6 days and only put in for one reservation campsite. I assumed that i could go from that campsite (if i get lucky to get it) and then go where ever id like as long as its outside the park or BLM. Anyone have past experience or knowledge of how the backcountry permit process works? Should i call them to tell them my app is probably wrong? TIA

Is the reservation through the park or a third-party? If it is through then park call them and tell them what you want to do. If it is through a third party you may have to cancel it and try rebooking.

We did a trip to Dinasore National Monument a couple of years ago I found we wanted to change up our plans a little once we got there. They were accommodating as long as it didn't interfere with anyone else's reservations. So you could take your chances. Just be ready to roll with the punches. Hang on to what you have as a back up.
