Well, I don't "overland" and I don't do group travel but I do spend time in the SNRA and Southern Utah/Northern Arizona but I don't do the overland shit, I just disperse camp. I'm there for other reasons and know my van's limitations. I've done that type of travel with my boys when they were young and my oldest (the younger is not an outdoors person) when he has some time away from work. I almost never do fires, never cook other than eggs and bacon and coffee each morning (more of a salami, cheese, baguette, and wine/beer for other meals), and HATE small talk. So loner here. Interestingly, I traveled extensively with my wife in our younger years. We did a six month trip all over the west and western Canada in our truck camper in 1992, and traveled extensively with our kids in the early to later 2000's starting t=with the truck camper, then a small 5er, then a bigger 5er. Wife prefers hotels, not camping. I prefer simple, not big trailers. My van is a compromise between a self-contained RV and my LX. It doesn't have 4-wheel drive so I don't do stupid things. Usually...
