I have a 2008 fj cruiser that is my everyday driver. I will probably be doing some new tires here in a few months. I put 285s on about a year ago. They are nice to have for getting more ground clearance. My fj cruiser also has a 2 1/2 inch coil kit. I know that running the bigger tires wears components out faster than having the stock tire size. What do you guys suggest? I know there are some Toyota owners out there. Have you had any problems with the front end like cv axles by running bigger tires?

Not a Toyota, but on my Mitsubishi (UK - L200 pick up), running the larger tyres (and wheel spacers) with a 2" suspension lift - the only detrimental effect has been a hunger for wheel bearings. CVs are at a sharper angle, but they seem to survive OK - but I guess that will depend on quality of manufacture - I've run both OEM and after market versions.
The L200 has wishbone and torsion bar front suspension.
