Hey everybody, I’m in the planning stages for a trip down south to Georgia. Was wondering what the community thought was a better route to go whether it be the Traverse or adventure trail? I’m going to be in a full size rig if that makes any difference in your opinion. Thanks in advance for any information you can provide!

go check out the southeast region posts...there are several about this in that section.

the wife and i go to georgia a good bit and i got off on a dirt road with a lifted tundra with camper shell and cargo rack on top...i barely made it. very sharp turns with no turn around and several downed trees that i luckily cleared, but barely. definitely get some good info before going in a full size rig. pretty sure there are sections of the GAT that would be rough for a full size...

Are you referring to the Georgia Traverse? I still have one section to complete near Tray Mountain, which I have heard is the most challenging section. For the parts I did east and west of there, it was an easy drive on fairly well maintained FS roads. Have they not been maintaining it lately? Some of the off-shoots can be challenging, but I don’t recall any of the main road being tight.
