I think I've found the perfect utensils for these meals and general use in camp for cooking and eating - the Toaks titanium long handled, smooth bowl, spoon and spork. $11 each, shipped. Well made, long enough to get into the MH bags without getting food all over your hands, and the polished bowl is just so much more civilized. I bought the spoon on Amazon and found the spork on ebay. For a knife, I use my Mini-Griptilian or whatever I'm carrying that trip.

Unless you use long handled utensils, you do. That's why I bought them. Plus, they're titanium and that's cool. Because stainless would have weighed my rig down too much...

I bought these for my son and I a few years ago for our backpacking trips and we love them. So light and can reach down into bags without sticky hands.

Based on what I usually eat, the spork is probably a waste of $11 but I had to have the pair.

I use the long handled titanium sea to summit spork in my hunting kit. The long handled stuff makes all the difference in the world.

I just use the cheap dollar store wooden spoons for this...long enough and cheap. And they can be use for other cooking purposes too.
