First Baja Surf Trip

Hi,
Me and two mates from the uk were looking to fly to California and do an off road surf trip down through Baja for 4 weeks. Obviously there are some logistical and experience obstacles. Any advice on the following would be greatly appreciated.

• How to sort out a rig? Is hire a standard 4x4 from the airport an option. Are there any overland rentals that anyone is aware of?
• Surf spots or nice general locations on the way down.
• Any advice on essentials we should be taking that we might have missed as first timers

Baja for surfing is great! Most of the major spots have a town nearby, a hotel and some kind of a little store. It's not like it was 20 years ago. a 2 wheel drive some clearance will get you most places.
