Looking for dispersed camping ideas for the Ebbetts Pass/HWY 4 area. Near a creek/river/lake would be ideal but anywhere away from established campgrounds would be great.

Hey Matt, you realize that area is doing a whole lot of shaking, right? Sorry I don't know any places around there, I usually go Hwy108 and into Nevada, Bighorn campground is pretty and pretty unused when I've been there. Not a cool foresty experience though, plenty of water!

Yeah it has had some shaking but what can you do? We'll be headed back to the bay area from a trip along 395. I'll look into your tip, appreciate it!

How far off the road do you want to go? A few options to research:
- Calaveras Dome (view)
- Deer Valley trail (offroading, rivers)
- Slick Rock Trail (offroading, rivers)
