Not sure where the best spot to post this is. So forgive me if it’s in the wrong discussion.
Hello, anyone willing to share some good dispersed camping spots in the black hills? My wife & I will be looking for some camp spots & trails that a stock Tacoma TRD Sport can navigate to. We will be there this week. 5/3-5/5. There are no campgrounds open until Mid May.

I was through there last July just looking around. I kind of do things on the fly and had no real plan for a campsite. The weather was warm so I was looking for some altitude away from the crowd. Ended up late in the day up at the Bear Mountain Lookout Tower. Great view from up there. It was late so I went back down the road to about the third road to the left going back down and in about a half mile to a flat area and popped my RTT for the night. Nothing remarkable for sure. The grass was a bit tall but it was quiet. The road /trail is a loop and I noted some other areas on the way out that looked good. There are many, many side roads to explore and finding a decent spot should be no trouble. My method is to look at the area on google maps and satellite view to identify areas that look suitable. Just give yourself some time before dark to find a spot. It's a big forest so there are many opportunities.

BTW, I also have a Tacoma...you should be able to go just about anywhere.
