Off-Road Ranger I
I ordered up the Dirty Dog front seat pet divider for my Jeep Wrangler to keep my 4 yr old Lab and 8 yr old Borador out of the cockpit. The installation was simple, looked great and we were on our way for a quick spin in the woods.
The dogs protested by trying to push their muzzles through the netting and my lab pouted for a minute by resting his head with muzzle through one of the holes for a minute ( I watched him) before they both claimed their respective positions, sticking their head out of the rear windows.
Got home an hour later and saw there were clean tears/slices in the webbing; no chew mark, my mutts stopped chewing on things years ago and they were at the windows. I took pics and sent them to Dirty Dog where I was told there is an 800 lb breaking strength on the webbing, period. I haven't heard another peep in two weeks.
My boyfriend is a retired firefighter and Search &Rescue coordinator, he's seen plenty of webbing failures and issues. We also have tons of retired high grade webbing around, some we used as leashes when my dogs were pups. The tears in the Dirty Dog net were in no way chew marks, it looks almost like someone took a box cutter and cut 1/3-1/2 way through. I'm planning on sewing over the compromised webbing with some of our Fire Dept. webbing in order to get more than an hour use out of the net. There's no way I'd trust securing my overlanding gear if a dog pushing through causes failure.
I'm glad I only bought the front divider and be out 150.00, for I was going to order the rear divider and side nets, but I'll be switching to Raingler gear.
