I live close to where the Detwiler Fire started and a friend of mine lives at the corner of Bear Valley Rd and Hwy 49 in Bear Valley 2-3 miles form where the fire started in Hunters Valley. Fortunately his home was saved as were most in the area however his property and 80,000 acres around it burned. I was at his place yesterday and we took a drive around the area. I took a lot of pictures and debated about posting them, however I decided to post a few as reminder to us all how inportant it is for us to very deligent when we are in the wilderness so man made fires to devastate the wilderness we love.

I wanted to add a huge thank you to Cal Fire and all the other participating agencies, in driving around the area I saw home after home where everything around the structures was burned but the homes were saved. I cannot believe how many homes were saved due to their efforts.

This is especially timely as the eclipse approaches, and (allegedly) millions flock to Oregon and other states along the path of totality. Many of these folks will be camping, and conditions will be ripe for fire. Please be careful out there!
