Back in March I headed out for a few days of relaxation and quiet on the on the Deschutes River in Central Oregon. You can read about the trip and see a few more photos on my travel blog.

On the way to the Deschutes River I stopped at White River Falls.

The Deschutes River starts high up in the Cascade Mountains and empties into the Columbia River.

I stayed at Macks Canyon, the most northerly campground that can be reached by car.

The campground is just above the river level.

There is a trail along the river that is used by both anglers and picnickers.

We’re heading down there tomorrow and I’m curious how busy the rail line across the river is. Thanks for posting the video!

About three to four trains a day usually late afternoon and at night. They do not blow the horn so all you hear, and sometimes feel, is the rumble of the engines and cars as they roll by across the river. Hope you have a good time And glad to hear you liked the video.
