Day 1

First Morning in Mojave
I woke up to this truck idling and the beautiful smell of diesel mixed with the wonderful smell of Denny's

Here's a picture of my sleeping accommodations, it took a bit to get situated. It was 52 degrees which was a bit on the cold side.

Day 2

The day was definitely an interesting one, we didn't touch dirt until roughly 2pm (that was difficult to swallow especially after hitting the sleeping bag at 1:30 and waking up at 6)
Our meet spot of Panimint turned out to be an empty one, we did end up arriving a half hour late though.
After waiting for about 45 minutes or so we headed over to Stovepipe Wells where I ate my three tangerines and waited some more.
We got back on the road on our way to Ubehebe Crater with a quick stop to check out the historic stove pipe. While making our way back to the main road we saw the buddy we were waiting for drive past the road we were on.

Saw a new Kia, was so excited to see this lol

Heading up to Panamint

There's a couple of rigs up there somewhere

View of the sky from out first real night of camping.

The areas I had to seal up to prevent dust from getting in.

How was sleeping in the bed? You have the tonneau?
The first night was ok, I'm a fairly active sleeper and I'd say the worst part about it was my sleeping bag constantly unzipping. The second night required cleaning, I'll post up pics of what I had to seal up to prevent the dust from coming in. The biggest bennifit was the lack of sunlight, I'm not a morning person and being able to keep sleeping was fantastic.
I'd definitely do it again but instead of bringing my super old sleeping bag I'll bring my newer nicer one.

Our campsite in the AM

Used rocks to level the truck for a relatively flat sleeping surface.

Not really my idea of wheelin but it was sill fun clippin along on these sections. I think I might have some video. Gotta make sure the Gopro was cooperating.

The sign at the end of the trail and where we aired up.

I've got some more pics of the trip back as well as some video in and outside of Death Valley.

I see you found tire tracks on the Racetrack. When I was there 2 weeks ago I didn't see any..... maybe I just was not in the same area. There have been 3 incidents of people driving out there in the past year.

That's crazy, I was by the grandstand. I think because of time of day I was able to easily see them from the road.

I think the Raptor tracks are fairly old right?

Edit: It looks like it happened some time in or around Sept 2016

Thank you, I've got a long ways to go until it can go places without worry but that's going to take a little while.
