Pathfinder III
I spent the day driving around some of my local area exploring for some new fishing spots.
I started the day at a familiar spot at the base of the hwy 11 bridge in New Orleans East. Unfortunately the wind was blowing hard out of the north west giving me crashing waves on the rocks, no fish,
Next i stopped by my friends house, another OB member, in Slidell but he was not awake so made my way to a local marina and threw the pole, still no fish,
Moved on to Lake rd in Lacomb which i found was flooded due to yesterdays heavy rain and high tide. I fished all along Lake rd, no fish, but was fun dribing through the high water. I saw a wild rabbit swimming for the first time ever, i didnt even know if they could before this incident.
The video would not work on here for some reason,
From there i moved on to the base of the bridge on hwy 90 near la 433, which was a compleatley new spot to me. Here I finally caught one small catfish and 6 medium size blue crabs. Well i wasnt scunked,
I moved to the other end of the bridge wich sits Historic Fort Pike, which now adays is closed off from visiters. I remember as a child visiting this old Fort with my grandparents.
There is a public boat launch that is next to the fort where i tried to land that monster red fish or a school of large speckled trout but wound up with just one more blue crab.
I went further down hwy 90 at the base of a draw bridge i stopped at what appeared to be a promising looking spot. But also no fish there,
I wrapped up the day going back to the first spot by the hwy 11 bridge. The water was much calmer now butstill nothing biting. i was ready to call it quits and headed back home just in time to reflect on my day sitting in 5 o'clock New Orleans traffic.
It was a good day exploring some areas i havent seen before and even though the catches were slim i feel satisfied with the experience.
