Chloride Canyon NM to Reserve NM

I wanted to get away for a couple days in early April and do some camping. I was looking into running the trail from Chloride Canyon NM (Winston) to Reserve NM and do some camping along the way. It looks like the elevation gets pretty high along that route. Does anyone know if this is doable during that time of year? I'm concerned about gates and large snow drifts.

I run a 2000 Tacoma with a 2 inch lift and 32 inch tires. Locked in the rear. Not concerned about a little bit of snow but I'm running this solo so I'd rather exercise caution on this.

Thanks!

I don't know about that route exactly, but one time I was trying to drive to Snow Lake (probably from Mogollon, but maybe Reserve), and I had to turn around because of a gate that gets locked in the winter. I'd call a ranger station to be safe.

Same, the local Game Warden and Forest Ranger station will have current road condition.
We did from Chloride to Reserve and stayed at Snow Lake in may of ‘17.
Local ranger station had my answers.
