We have a week-long trip planned for next week (8/23 > 8/28) and were planning on heading to Monache Meadows. However, given recent fires and the heat, it seems like that is likely a no-go - especially with the recent Walker's fire.
We're heading out of San Diego - since the Eastern Sierra appears to be out, any suggestions for where we should go instead? We have been looking at going to the NoCal coast, but it appears nearly impossible to find boondocking spots and even last-minute camping in established campgrounds.
