Not lately but I am on the coast, the big problem is a lot of logging companies are starting to gate access. This is partly for safety and partly to prevent damage.
With new access, the best way is to just go. There are lots of area around there to explore, even if you can not get access to the new roads

I don't know the area, but if you take a look at the Forest Tenure Road Section Lines from GeoBC you can get access to all road permit roads that forestry companies have built or plan to build soon(ish). This won't include smaller block spur roads, but it does include main/branch/secondary roads. Can be downloaded as a kml or opened in iMapBC.
