To do black bear pass, is it best to do it in the morning till noon because I heard that it usually rains on the trail after noon. What’s the best time to hit the trail?

Its monsoon season, so yes, you can get rain in the afternoon, but not always. Much of Colorado over 10k' got snow over the weekend too. Drought, forest fires, snow in August. You never know whats gonna happen.

morning's a good time, just for the sake of grabbing lunch in Telluride as you'll lose your lunch on the steps.
