I've been looking for a firm foam mattress for my starter build I've been working on. I have a height limitation that would allow up to 4.5" thick at the max and I'm having trouble finding something decent. There are a few options on amazon, but most seem to have issues with being a lot thinner then what's advertised, not being firm and sinking right through or even some that arrive moldy..on top of all the fake reviews on there that have given me trust issues on anything not name brand on amazon.

I wanted to see if anyone knows of where to look for the size I need, or if anyone has had good experiences with the amazon stuff

Thanks in advance!

I know you said foam mattress, but if you are willing to give a blow up one a chance I would strongly recommend the Klymit static V air mattresses. I have three of them and have had really good luck with them. They have all held up better than any other air mattress I've owned and I find them to be really comfortable. They're available in a few different sizes and you can get insulated ones if you are planning for cold weather camping.

yep...bought a nice tri-fold mattress on amazon and love it.
i'd definitely go the amazon route. the tri fold is nice for storage and it folds where it can be used as a chair with a back

I don't know how it is in North America, in Germany we have countless companies where you can choose the foam (hardness etc) and the dimensions and order via configurator on the web.

Thanks for the responses. I think I'll try the amazon tri fold to start since my bed platform I built does have flip up storage underneath. Worst case I can just return it.

You might try this link North America Mattress Corp.
They do custom mattresses for rigs, RVs, truck. Here’s another contact I got from our local Van Expo: mailto:daven@namattress.com
The 5" thick ones on there might work for me and if the amazon one doesn't pan out for me then I'll try them out, thanks!

I've seen them but for my truck the foam will be better for me since I'll have a more permanent bed platform. I will probably end up with one of those Klymit ones eventually though if I end up doing an overnight trip on my boat or hiking

I'm sure there are plenty of places that do that here too but it seems like finding a needle in a haystack when searching online. The search results are just flooded with all the cheap chinese premade stuff
