Hello everyone. I really hope somebody can help. We have just started a 12 month overland trip of a lifetime and really struggling.

We are in the Balkans at the moment, which is beautiful, but no matter where we go, barking dogs keep us awake all night. We hear that south of here to Greece and east to Turkey, Georgia and Armenia, the problem is the same.

We are in a RTT and have tried every kind of ear plugs we can find.

We are moving each day in the hope that we can find somewhere quiet. It’s now getting dangerous, because we are not well rested enough to be driving safely the next day.

Is anybody else having the same challenge? If so, how did you get around it?

Thanks

Dave

Many if the areas I stay in there are coyotes that can be loud. In the beginning they would keep me up. It is something that I have just gotten used to. I see it now more as sounds of nature, and nature is relaxing. Just reframing my brain to see it as something calming. Its not an easy process and may take some time. There is not much we can do with wildlife and esspecially in an RTT that has little to no sound dampening.

That’s a great concept, totally trying to get on board turning the frustrating into “just part of the experience” Thank you so much for the reply

Firecrackers.

I toss an m80 out the door, if my fellow rude campers can't shut their dumb dogs up. Bark or whimper. It's the dog owners choice, what they'd like to hear all night.

Also..........dog is a fine meal. Just sayin.

I dont believe these are all domestic dogs. I noticed when I spent time in these countries there is a large amount of wild dogs.
