I have a 2021 4Runner Off-Road Premium and am seeking to take it to Tijuana over Labor Day weekend with my girlfriend, entering Tecate and staying around Ensenata. We'll be crossing on Friday Sep 2 and returning Monday Sep 4, so a super quick trip. If this goes well, we'll do a longer one in Thanksgiving.
We're wondering if anyone who has done offroad camping/overlanding down there would be willing to share their itinerary or even some general recommendations? We're going solo and are trying to camp near others and not get too far off grid in case of any issues. Looking to camp and surf, and maybe standup paddleboard, and stay safe. Any ideas or info would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
