The wife, kids, and I used to go out often but in the past handful of years we've had our heads down with work, building a house, and kids getting through high school. After preparing to send our oldest to college, knowing our second is one year behind her, my wife and I looked at each other and said, "what now?" Last fall when we were contemplating getting rid of the kid's old van and doing the new car shuffle, my wife expressed interest in taking my 2017 Cherokee Trailhawk - which would leave me as the one to look for a new ride. Missing our outdoor life we had, I started looking at various trucks and watching a billion Youtube channels like Overland Bound. Well, after two and half months of waiting we picked up our overlanding vehicle, a Launch Edition Gladiator...here's to the start of our summer adventures. I've been sitting at the computer for days now making lists and having decision/purchase paralysis...baby steps I guess.

Now that’s gonna be fun to fix up $$$ :)
Yeah, I'm trying to be sensible. First purchase was to enable some light duty day trips with peace of mind. So air up/down gear, tire repair, traction boards, GPS to support Gaia on my iPad. I'd like to have an ARB compressor in the engine bay connected to one of the Aux switches but man that's a tight space and it looks like Wrangler JL people have had to fab a bracket and such. So for now I'm sticking with the portable compressor. After we take it easy for a bit and get our feet under us I think a rooftop tent over the bed will be the next step.

Thank you very much my mouth is watering ha ha. Congrats super sweeeeeeet looking rig. Take it easy on the mods as those vehicles IMO are one of the best stock capable vehicles on the market today hands down. Just my opinion.

I agree. After the first set of tires wear out I think I'll go to 35s, but at the moment I don't plan on doing more than that since it'd require a lift kit and re-gearing. It'd just be money spent on something that already functions for where I plan to start. Mostly my money will be spent on gear to increase my options for time away, distance, and terrain management (winch/tackle).
