Nathan Anderson started a thread asking about creating a sub region New sub region?
But commented he couldn’t get any traction and kinda gave up on the idea. I think he has a good idea, and he generously offered to moderate it. But if a sub region won’t work here, how do we go about sharing ideas and meeting each other ? The SE region is huge and really doesnt get as much activity as it would seem it should. This may be because folks in Florida and Arkansas are so far apart we can’t really trip plan or just arrange a day of exploring or whatever. I personally joined OB to try and meet like minded folks. My running buddies have kinda lost interest in anything but easy access camping , I personally enjoy scouting new stuff as much as I do doing multi day trips. I assume Mason and the guys over this region need to be heavily involved .I don’t do social media and was hoping OB would have more local activity than it does. I’m always up for a days trail ride of any level, doing a clean up, or simply camping, I would assume others are as well..I’m not a big group guy but do feel we need a non social media based gathering place such as this .
Forgive me if I’m out of place with this, I’m a newb here and may be out of line.

I live in SW Missouri, but would join an Arkansas sub region. Arkansas is great destination state and the moniker Natural State is right on.

As I tried pointing out in the other thread, it won’t get traction... if you want more activity... start making activity... when I joined I was the only member in the area that was active... no RPs no trips, nada... we now have several very active members and we are out at least once a month if not more.
