ARB Base Rack - fabrication

Hello All and more specifically ARB folks!

I have a 2001 Isuzu Trooper and I want to mount a roof rack. Here are some of the issues I am facing.
#1 I really like the ARB base rack, but they are vehicle specific and don't make one for the Trooper.
#2 I am in Greece, I have found a distributor in Athens ..so I could order from them and deliver to Crete, but before I do...

Do ya'll think I could buy the Base rack and fabricate the mounting points for the Trooper? I have six factory mounting points on the roof where I can bolt on the rack.

The roof rack is gong to be an important part of the rig, because when I am traveling with the wife and kids we are 6 in total and I cant pack a lot of gear inside the cabin.

Has anyone fabricated or modified the Base rack to fit their rig ?

So 2001 is the 2nd Gen Trooper, right? This one was sold in Europe as Opel Monterey. Maybe you can find something when looking for that one?

Surco makes mounting adapters for the 2nd gen Trooper, not sure if that would work with the ARB rack but worth looking into.

Did you ever get your rack mounted?
Without seeing the roof of the trooper I'm not sure it would work, but on mine I removed the factory rails and built my own mount using 1"x1/4" flat bar and some 1/8" plate. Flat bar laid flat on the roof and bolted into existing holes. The 1/8" plate was almost vertical off of that and was welded to the roof basket I was using.
