That's spectacular! I was just in Cougar Canyon last month, (not for overlanding unfortunately, not sure I'd offroad a Hyundai Sonata), and the flowers were just starting to come up.

Just back in GA after doing the Mojave Rd for 4 nights and then 2 days in Anza Borrego. Anza was lit up. Mojave was just starting. This might sound crazy but I am 99.9 percent sure a Wolverine crossed my path on Mojave Rd. I know I know you think high and snow but I saw what I saw. Anyone else heard of Wolverines in the desert?

According to the National Park Service there's only four Mammals in the Mojave. Big horn Sheep, Black Tailed Jack Rabbit, Coyote, and Bat. It's spring so maybe a very young Coyote with his ears back zipping by. They wont have there long legs yet. Big bushy tail. Still has dark coloring. Next time stop, grab your water bottle and track that guy down. I've learned that things that run in the desert, run in spurts. So I have never had that much trouble getting eyes on something again.
