Finally, the time had come again. The annual spring meeting was just around the corner. As in previous years, @El-Dracho organised the location and encouraged other members to contribute to the OB community. Once again this year, there were some great workshops to expand or refresh your knowledge. Rick showed us impressively how we can find our way in nature if the GPS fails. In addition to theoretical input, there were also practical application examples such as a group pace walk.
After a short break, we refreshed our first aid skills. In addition to the different ways of stopping bleeding and the theoretical input on why it is so important to save every single drop of blood, the members were able to familiarise themselves with various materials.
After it got colder, Oliver and Moritz held a workshop on fire stations. Here, too, a lot of different material was passed around and it was demonstrated how easy it is to start a fire (with the right materials).
In addition to the workshops, there was, as every year, a lot of technical expertise on the members' vehicles and discussions about destinations and other things.
Björn had the idea of a book swap for the first time this year and next year there will be a Gera Market where members can swap, sell or give away old equipment.
Another highlight was that Matthias brought a stranded member to the Meet-up. That's exactly what makes the community so special.
