Well. It happened. I got interested in another area. Not sure I will be getting here anytime soon...but while being the chauffeur for Christmas shopping...i got the maps out and started dreaming.20211218_185128.jpg20211218_185239.jpg20211218_185315.jpg20211218_203324~2.jpg

Purple lizard Maps have started mapping it with the first area being on the North East corner of their Cook Forest map.

Beautiful region. I also plan to spend more time in western Pennsylvania. I paddled part of the Allegheny River a few years back and the region is gorgeous. Now that I have an e-bike I want to ride on more trails and Allegheny looks like a good location.

I got a chance to check out the ANF shown on the Purple Lizard Maps Cook Forest map.

Found some of the gates are seasonal(not yet sure what that means) and found some points of interest.

Marked down the campsites to check them out too.

My notes are in the pics.

The numbers are road numbers/names that have the seasonal gates.

Thanks DevilDodge for the handwritten notes and for featuring the new Purple Lizard Cook Forest map. I just bought mine.

In March I am heading west to Texas and Arizona again but I'll be back by June, at which time I will explore western PA. I gotta spend more time and miles east of the Mississippi.
