I am currently preparing my vehicle for the trip to Morocco. However, since the original air filter box is on the other side of the engine bay, I can't use it and will probably just scrap the idea of using it. There's just no way to neatly route a 76mm (3") pipe to the other side.
I have around 25x35x35 cm (~10"x13"x13") of space inside the engine bay on the side of intake.

Which air filter box or air filter system should I consider?
Perhaps something from Donaldson? What Donaldson filter should I be looking at that would move enough air?
I'm concerned that the current "sport filter" doesn't actually filter anything and I want to avoid that. It is basically on just for a few test drives.

I would be interesed in something like the Donaldson G065433.
However, it seems that the airflow would be insufficient for a ~350hp turbodiesel?
Some discussions about this Donaldson filter were held on this forum.

I may be a bit dim, however don;t understand why "...since the original air filter box is on the other side of the engine bay, I can't use it.".

For desert conditions, we have had a snorkel on two vehicles, but none on several others, on which we've left the standard air filter alone and checked it periodically.

Because the car is engine swapped and the original airbox is from the previous engine. I cannot use it because there is no space to route a 3” pipe across the engine bay.

I would definetly recommend to get rid of this sportsfilter. Any possibility to install an airfilterbox from any other rig with similar engine and needed airvolume? Or look into the agriculture outfitter area, there are plenty of solutions there which might could be adapted. Maybe check out MANN+HUMMEL for an airbox?

I am seriously considering Donaldson G082526. However, it might be a tight fit.
And I am unsure if the rated airflow is enough.
