Anyone have any experience with this? The pioneer platform I bought for my Excursion came with six feet, but my RTT from CVT (Mount Denali) bumps right up against its max static weight of 200-ish pounds, with a bit of creaking. No signs of stress on the roof or rack yet, but I thought that spreading the load a bit might not be a bad idea...thoughts?

Well you can most easily add feet anywhere you have a crossbar under the rack. It may or may not add any useful load as that depends on what the load is being limited by. On mine I’m planning on bumping from three crossbars being supported to four but they tie to the vehicle’s rain gutter rather then the roof itself.

Looking at yours the feet could hurt or hinder, really depends on how the feet you add line up with supports under that roof.

Yeah, it would be nice to see how closely RR’s recommended foot placement matches up with the crossbars inside the rig’s roof. Hopefully weIl! [emoji23]

Guess I’m just a bit nervous about having the static weight of the tent (200 lbs) be so close to the platform’s capacity (220)...the whole “take a guess at your roof/rack’s dynamic weight rating” can be a bit disconcerting.

If two are good, three are better. Each cross brace will carry a share of the wright equally.
If two bars are carrying 100# each then a third bar would carry 1/3 of 200# using your logic. I would add the third bar, it can't hurt. The roof rail dosent know how many cross bars you have and dosent care. A third bar will stiffen the rhino rack perimeter frame (IMO)
