2020 Ram 1500 Rebel Leveling Kit?

Hi guys,

I'm new to overlanding and off-roading and don't have much experience with auto mechanics so please bear with me :)

Just got my 2020 Ram Rebel (w/ EcoDiesel) a few weeks ago and looking into my first mods besides bed cover, RTT etc.

Are there any leveling kits you can recommend? I'm assuming that it'd require a wheel alignment after installment? Does a leveling kit in any way affect the off-road performance of the truck?

Which is unfortunately not compatible with the Rebel.
I believe it actually is even though they don't advertise for it. But, he will subtract 1" from the Mopar lift. That's because the Rebel already sits 1" higher than regular RAMs.

Also, he should make sure that he gets the new version of the lift that gives a little more lift upfront (to get it closer to level).

We have a '19, thought it's not a Rebel it still has the 4x4 package with the factor 2" lift. If you look, you'll see it's just coil-spring spacers front and rear. We were one of the first people modding a '19, and initially bought a Ready Lift 3.5" lift kit for the truck: 3.5" SST Lift Kit - Ram 1500 2WD/4WD 2019-2020 At the time, their site did NOT have the warning at the bottom of the overview:

"NOTE: Not for use on trucks that are factory pre-lifted/leveled or that have the "off-road package". Check factory height prior to ordering or installing."

We had the kit installed and the control-arm angles, CV-angles etc. were all out of whack. It looked goofy, and it had reduced steering lock. I'm sure putting any real miles on it like that would have worn EVERYTHING out quickly (CVs, ball joints, etc.). Luckily my girlfriend had only driven it home before she sent me pics and I instantly spotted the problems (I was away on work).

Here's how it looked with the full "lift" installed:

The front tires being "sucked in" is really obvious in this last pic.


I went ahead and removed Ready Lift's Spacers, but left the factory Mopar spacers, so basically we're just running the front control arms to get the leveling and correct balljoint angles. We have about 10k miles on it now in this configuration and it drives/rides great:

It clears the 35x12.5-20"s with only a tiny, tiny bit of rub at just the right steering angle (about mid-turn, not full lock) and a little bump on the additional Weathertec no-drill mud-flaps we added. Without the additional mudflaps and just the factory little wings behind the tires there is no rub... but on a truck with these tires and this color we want all the help we can get to keep rock-chips to a min.

Oh, and to answer a few of your specific Qs:

  1. I would ONLY recommend leveling kits that include upper control arms to correctly lift the front of the truck and correct geometry
  2. Yes, you will want to get it aligned after it is leveled
  3. A leveling kit should only improve offroad performance... if it's done right. There's a lot more to it than can easily be described here, but in general a UCA style kit will maintain your travel and ride, while giving you more clearance. In other words, it can only help not detract from offroad if it is a UCA type kit

I just want to reinforce the above.

And to the OP: The Mopar kit comes with new UCA's. You can also get the Mopar UCA's for like $45 each if you order them separately (If I remember right) if you want to piece together your own kit.

I've been running the Mopar kit since it came out back in 2018. I did the free update to it from Mopar that lifts the front a little more. I then added a taller front spring (from the 4x4 package) to compensate for the weight I've added to the truck. It aligned without issue. Sitting on 34" tire. I run it pretty hard on and off road and it's been fine.

Teraflex Falcon Shocks in all 4 corners. Rear is adjustable, Soft, Mid, Firm (Firm for towing, Mid for normal driving and mild off road, Soft for Extreme off-road). This kit provides the 2.25" level, and is specific for the rebel. I plan on installing it to my '20. You can add 37" tires with this set up and get additional clearance, as well (thanks TFLT youtube). Link below:
