Hey Guys! I am signing on a new 4Runner TRD Off Road tonight, but it won't be here for a couple weeks. The silver accents on the front and rear bumpers, are those removable? I am hoping for body color underneath.

I'mm 99% sure you can remove the valances, and will have factory paint under them. All the 4runner models use the same bumpers, but some come with the grey valance depending on which package/model you get. I know a lot of people that have added those to models that didn't come with them.

Yeah I'll have to look into it. I can't find any thing online at all about it, except one post which I think showed holes in the bumper to allow the silver to clip in. Would love to not have to paint it.

That may be an over-generalization and may depend on where you ordered your 4Runner.

Here are the types of bumpers for each. The Limited bumper is quite different.

It's my guess that he silver 'attachment' may be to simulate the look of a skid plate.
I can see why you want to remove it.

If I get a chance to look around today, I'll see if it looks like it can be removed, but if so, my guess is that it's body color underneath.

It's a pretty accurate description of the bumpers. You picture even shows the Off-Road, and TRD Pro with the exact same bumper on them. The only difference is the valance over the bumper. The silver valance is just an ascent piece, and wouldn't simulate a skid plate. The skid plates can be seen under these valance pieces on both the TRD, and Off-Road packages.

I dug up a picture to show you what the bumper looks like without the valance on the front. The valance can be removed, but you'll be left with holes in the bumper from the mounting tabs of the valance.

This is what an SR5 bumper would look like minus the holes.

You can remove the valiance covers to paint them.

This is a pic from t4r which goes in depth of how to remove the rear accent. It's nice because they highlight what bolts/clips need to be removed.
This video shows how to remove the front bumper to remove the valiance.
The valiance covers are held in by clips through the slots in the bumper which can then be easily taken off.
