image.jpegAs purchased with dealer added alloy wheels and flaresimage.jpeg In current form:image.jpegHi guys new to overland bound but keen to add some Aussie flavour!
After two Toyota's (92 fj80, 04 hilux) I crossed to the dark side and bought a new Nissan

Here is the build for my Nissan. It is the latest shape navara (frontier)
I purchased the base model RX. It has a 2.3l common rail single turbo diesel Renault based engine (higher spec had a twin turbo)
It has independent front suspension and a 5 link coil Spring rear.
It's so far proven a great little truck and you can't complain with 26mpg fully loaded!

So far mods include:
TJM winch bumper, steps and rear bar
TJM canopy with rhino roof bars
60mm dobinsons lift with remote reservoir shocks
Cromoly rear control arms and panhard rod
11,000lb winch with rope and remote control
265/75r16 bfg km2 mud tyres
Foxwing awning
Uhf radio and neoprene seat covers
Currently building my fridge compartment and dual battery setup. I also plan to add a kitchen, roof top tent, snorkel and front and rear air lockers

Cheers mate , has been a while coming but finally have the camper I wanted . Feel free to ask anything
Thanks mate! I was just drooling over your Patrol, absolutely top shelf!
I'm heading up to the Cape and Fraser Island in july, I'll have to pick your brain before then.

Due to a series of unfortunate events I recently shattered my rear canopy window.
Apparently TJM can't source a window only, but the whole rear panel with locks and struts for $750!!! After picking up my jaw off the floor I began some plotting and scheming. It gives me an opportunity to bring some innovation to my rig!image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg Pictured: cleaning out the glass, you can see my fridge compartment and second battery box (dual battery unit and 240v inverter mounted on top) also a quick sketch of what I have in mind.

I'm thinking of filling the rear window cavity with a sheet of painted alloy or steel. I could mount my maxtrax up there too! Watch this space...

I got out for the weekend and tested out the full tent and awning setup. The bottom room worked great for changing clothes and storing the bikes. Set up and pack up took 15 minutes each.image.jpegOnce I was home I put in the new canopy window with the help of my dad. image.jpeg The next mods will be the dual battery system and my custom kitchen, should get done over the Christmas break

Well it has been a while but I have done some things and seen some great places in the little datto!

The kitchen has been assembled. I'll call this stage 1. I have since coated it with shellac, and currently working out some fold out legs and a flip open table for more bench space. The top will eventually be stainless steel sheet. Thanks to @FozRoamer for the sink inspiration!image.jpegimage.jpeg image.jpeg
The snorkel has been installed. I chose TJM again as it looked really neat and was the only one that didn't interfere with the flares image.jpegI've also installed a seal around the tailgate to stop water/dust ingress. There are some holes in the tub that also need filling. Also pictured is my battery box :)image.jpeguntil next time... Happy trails!image.jpeg
