Wow... I did something I never thought I would do, sold my first rig. I previously had a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac (photo included) which was my first vehicle when I turned 16, 2 years ago come January. Although it was the perfect rig for me I slowly realized that it might be time for something bigger before I go off to college in the fall of 21. So, last weekend (Saturday after Thanksgiving) I found the perfect next vehicle, a 2010 Silverado 1500 4x4 work truck. It's by no means a brand new vehicle but it will be great for offroading and Overlanding and I'm enjoying the auto headlights & other newer features. So, I can proudly now say I am the proud owner of my truck at the age of 17 and I've got years and years ahead of me of building the perfect full-size rig! oh, and you can see my non-Overlanding vehicle (my project car) the mustang next to the new truck!FB_IMG_1602532478936.jpg20201201_153436.jpg

Congratulations on the Silverado!

Gotta say, though, the red Explorer looked pretty well set up. I did what you did. My immediate previous vehicle is a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 2 inch Iron Rock Offroad springs, Pro Comp 9000 shocks and Wrangler wheels.

I more or less abandoned that in favor of the 2014 GMC Sierra double cab I got a year and a half ago.

While not very good for technical trails or real rock crawling, these full size trucks are excellent for highway travel and moving along forest service roads and logging trails, all while sitting in relative comfort and easily carrying everything you need without feeling cramped.

Also, your truck looks good. I admire the work truck of that generation because it's still a floor mounted 4x4 shifter. Back in the day, Silverado was a trim level of the chevy truck, the top trim level. So my 93 and 94 chevy Silverado were chock full of every option available and still had floor shifters - just the way I liked it
