We went on our first ride this weekend with some fellow OB members and had a blast! We have a 2003 Suburban 1500 Z71. It goes to the shop this week for mods. I have decided to put replace the stock tube step rails with rock sliders because of a slight mishap. Has anyone found any commercial made sliders or is it gonna need to be a custom job? If it's custom how did you make them? Meaning specs, etc. Thanks for any help.

I'm guessing it'll have to be custom, there isn't a lot out there for the GMT800 trucks that can actually survive trail use. Almost everything for our 2003 Sierra is or will be custom fab work. Sliders for ours are going to a giant pain when the time comes...

That's what I'm afraid of but we will give it a shot if that's what it comes down to. Thanks for your reply.

Your gonna need something like 115" sliders, only ones i know of are for dodge power wagon and they cost $800+ pre built . You may be able ro find an unwelded kit but those normally max out at 80 inches and cost around $400 and by the time you have someone weld them it will cost just as much as a prebuilt kit unless you can do it yourself. Another thing to ponder is will any rails available be able to hold up all that weight, my guess is probably not.
Your cheapest and probably best option would be to build your own if you can weld.
Good luck searching.
