[For Sale] - [Seattle, WA] - [1990 VW Syncro 4x4] - [$44000]
After 8 years of adventuring with Alvin, my 1990 4X4 Vanagon, I am putting him up for sale. Of course mixed emotions, but it’s time to move to a new vehicle.
This vehicle has confidently taken us into the wilderness in 20 states, 2 countries, 15 road trips, 200+ weekend adventures into the mountains, through the desert, out along the entire length of the Pacific Coast, deep into Canada and through the islands of British Columbia. Surfing, SUPing, kayaking, climbing, camping, and rafting adventures all Vanagon powered!
Alvin is a workhorse who started his life as a Weekender tin top with a poptop conversion. The stock motor was swapped out with a 2.2l Subaru Forester motor and the transmission was rebuilt by AA Transmissions. Upgraded bushings and new Bilstein shocks were installed last year, big brake kit with new rotors installed a few years back.
Body is in good shape, needs some new paint with minor seam rust mitigation needed. It has been driven on adventures and so has some dings and scratches, no major dents. Price reflects need for paint.
