I've never been one to really need 4wd. Grew up camping off road in a 2wd 1971 Ford Econoline van with my family. We went everywhere with it. Yes, we got stuck but that is what 2x6's, shovels and old carpet were for- to get us moving again.
Anyhow, my current vehicle/daily driver is an '06 Chevy Silverado 2500hd in 2wd with the factory locking diff.
I have brought this truck back to near new condition and added a bunch of extras like auto chains and a belt driven york compressor for air, an extra battery, power and light to the bed among many other items.
It gets me where I want to go and stays stealthy
