Thank you everyone for your thoughts. I am starting to lean more too a Wrangler, I live in Texas and being able to take the doors and roof off in the summer be nice.
I am new to overlanding and am looking to start building a rig soon. However I am trying to decide between a Tacoma or a Wrangler. This rig would also be my daily driver so it needs good gas mileage. I love the look of a Wrangler, but like the idea of having a bed. I saw the new Jeep Gladiator...
Newest addition to my rig, a mobile HotSpot so everyone in my rig will have good internet. There is an antenna on my roof that I hope will give me a good signal in most places.
Thank you @THEpoorguy. I know how you feel, when I first found this group I was going the same thing. I just ordered a hotspot for my rig and will be installing a USB charging port in the back soon, I will add pictures. I am also a computer tech and want to add some IT gear to my rig as well.
@herooftheday good point. I do like having to time to design the build. I am able to get look at my rig and really find the best place for all the upgrades.
Thank you herooftheday. I am excited about this build too. It is just going to take awhile to get it finished. I don't make that much money. Next step is to install two small flood spot lights. I just need to figure out the best way/place to mount them.

I got my Ram Mount installed today. It looks nice and I can't wait to get my iPad to go with it. Little by little my overland rig will come together. It was a little tricky to get the mount installed on my passenger side site as the mounting point for the seat is setup differently then how the...
I just ordered a RAM mount and an iPad for navigation. I know of Hema maps, which is really popular in Australia, does anyone know if they are any good in North America? Any other recommendations for off road maps?

I have a question, I just got a set of spot lights and need a recommendation on where to mount them to my Crosstrek. I am wanting something like ally lights, I am just not sure how to mount them to my rig. I have seen mounts made for Jeep and a few other makes, but nothing for a Subaru. Any tips...
Thank you for the advise. With this career type I need to always remember to plan small vacations. That is one of the reasons I joined this community. I now have people I can meet up with to go out and have fun.
The fun thing is that from what I understand about time off requests with my ambulance company, EMT's have to put in a time off request a year early. So I can definitely provide a good amount of notice for any trip. Part of the reason I was trying to get this trip set up was because right now I...
I have some bad news, it is looking like this trip will have to be put off for a little while. My finances have taken a hit with my EMT certification costs, and I will not be able to get a few basic items put into my rig or afford to take any time off for right now. I am hoping to be able to get...
