Anyone want to run the full trail this spring? Myself in a 2021 Taco and my buddy in a street legal KTM dual sport are interested. Would be fun to caravan. Maybe make it a 2 or 3 day trip?
Hey folks, my friend, (in a KTM Dualsport), and myself in the taco will be tackling the full length of the NEBDR starting with section 8 in Maine on Sept 6th, and working our way in reverse ending with section 1 in NY between Sept 15th and 17th. We have collectively ridden almost every section...
Update: So I did sections 1 & 2 the last two days and just got home. As of now the seasonal gates are all open, and I was able to handle both sections in the truck. I will say there is a 4 mile portion of Section 1 called River Rd that was a bit of a white knuckle ride. Tight trails along sheer...
Hey Jared! Welcome to the community! Despite popular opinion, there are plenty of places to get out and enjoy the trails up here. Hope to see you on the trails!
Im interested. Im a CT guy, but Ive traveled (much) farther for some adventure. @RJ Howell Im thinking the MABDR would be safe that time of year, its supposed to be the easiest of the BDR's being mostly tramac, but I dont know for sure. @19_TITAN_PRO4X I can't say im prepared to head further...
And on that note: For all you Gaia users, I converted all routes to tracks, removed all the turn waypoints, and color coded all bypasses, attractions, fuel stops, campsites etc. This one (should) read much better in Gaia. All credit still goes to OP. Thanks again!
Def adding this to my list of must do. Between the SCAR, NEBDR, and MABDR, I can no longer use the excuse of living in the northeast as to why I cant find trails close by. I sense an exhaustive Trans Eastern Route on the horizon. Thanks for all the hard work!
Yeah, since I do most of my travel alone (or with someone inexperienced) It can be a pain both scouting routes, AND finding/setting up camp. I figure this way I get out for a few days at a time and do my homework -set myself up for success later.
Hey everyone. Just an update - sorry its been a while - home renovation has soaked up a lot of time and money. I have decided I will be tackling 2 sections at a time over the next few months to ensure its driveable in 4x4, staying in hotels so I can focus on the driving (and stay out of the...
I was just able to sign up for the between th elakes trip immediately following this, so being able to jump on the bourbon tour again would be incredible
Hey! Loved joining last year - Would love to join you and the crew again this year but I was a little late on the rsvp. Would love a heads up if someone drops out. Ill be free that weekend!
Hey!
I built up a new 21 taco DCSB last year, and went a little crazy before fine tuning my actual needs. My loss is your gain as I now have a tonneau in fantastic condition available. I am located in Eastern CT and am willing to travel a reasonable distance to sell but may be able to ship at...
Too cool. What area are you located in? We are in Eastern CT, so we may do single day or weekend trial runs of some sections first. Probably the Massachusetts section. Would be willing to do the NY section first if thats closer to you for meeting up.
Hey, myself in a 21' Taco and a friend on an adventure bike want to plan to tackle the NE BDR route. Either in 3 parts, or, as I'd prefer, as one 10 day trip next year. We would likely try to tackle all segments together sometime in the summer/fall as the weather and trails will be a bit more...
Hey All! Bought my ticket the night they went on sale and have been looking forward to it all year! I'm traveling solo, but will be leaving from Fairfield County, CT early Thursday morning. Expect to arrive at Oak Ridge Estates around 5, but am happy to adjust plans to meet up and convoy with...
Ill bring a boring bottle of Maker's, but I will also bring a vat of Luxardo Cherries, vermouth, bitters, and some oranges to make some Old-fashioned/Manhattans!
Update I just hardwired the Btech (bafoeng subsidiary) UV25X4 in the cab of my taco and its been working fantastic. I get about a 15-20 mile range between units without the use of a repeater. Its a 25 watt (advertised) quad band I use with a short tuned composite antenna monuted next to my ditch...
Ive used UV-5R's and the newer BF-F8HPs for years and they are fantastic. Do yourself a favor and get the baofeng brand programming cable and download the Chirp app to your computer for programming. There is a wealth of helpful programming vids on Youtube that explain the process. This helps (if...
