    Build ideas

Man I put a set of Kryptonites front end parts on my buddies cat eye duramax. They are beefy for sure. Come in a nice foam lined box like it is jewelry. Nice heavy duty stuff. Sure OE have the money to R and D, the the aftermarket guys who are into racing, or into one brand or design are really...

    Build ideas

Look at Cognito. They really address the weak points of the stock Chevy suspension. Tie rods are super brittle on the Chevy front ends. A little tweak in a hole on the trail can snap them. They do a very small lift with good shocks to fit a touch taller, more aggressive tire will work well for...

Going back to a Full Size for my Overlanding

Yeah, they are the only winch bumper I liked as well. I have the octane version on my Ram. I really want to do the dual swing rear bumper as well. Only issue is I work out of the bed everyday. So I would want to take the swings off when not needed.

Going back to a Full Size for my Overlanding

That looks really good. I’m a bif fan of Chassis Unlimited bumpers. I run that too. The 12k winch is super tight fit inside. I had to move my controls to underhood. Wi would like to know how the kelderman rides over time.

    2016 Ram 2500 Build

Put the truck in the shop for a few upgrades last week. Now usually I do everything on my vehicles. Once bought, they never go back to the dealership. this Is an exception. I’m having the ring and pinion regeared. I’ve never done it before, don’t have the tools, and truly makes me a bit nervous...

Looking for recommendations for new tires.

I’m a big fan of Nitto and Toyo tires. Have had many of each. I’ve been running the Ridge Grapplers for a while now. Just coming in at the end of their life now. 51000 miles on them. I just ordered a new set of tires this past week. Going back with Nittos but with the new Recon Grapplers. I...

    outfitters in south carolina

Stay away from 4wheel parts. 3-4x the cost of everyone else. Palmetto 4x4 puts on lift kits or builds mud trucks. If you are looking for an outfitters here, there aren’t to many. Couple of new van outfitters. But nothing what your wanting. Heading closer to the mountains, yes. I like the guys...

    Ram Cummins (unreliable)

Sorry you are having issues. I’m a diehard Cummins fan. Have had multiple of every generation except the 5th gen. 19-20’s hav e the dreaded cp4 pump. It’s garbage.. when they go the replacement is everything from the fuel system. It puts metal throug out. It is a recall from FCA but only when it...

    Camp Toilet

Laveo dry toilet for the win for us. Charge the battery and take extra cartridges For packing. No water, no mess., no stink. Tall enough for me to use in an emergency. But it’s really for the wife. Been a game changer for her. The flush spins the cartridge and seals it for the next time. About...

    Is Electro-Overlanding a thing yet?

The EV overlanding conversation is an interesting one. It does offer quite a few options that are quite useful.. think of all the battery systems we design for our rigs to power fridges, lights, camp equipment and so on.. built right in on an EV. They are quite for the most part, lots of tech...

The voodoo VRS rack is impressive. Wish they had that one out when I bought my rack. It has so many cool options. Looks great on there.

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Removed the RTT, the 270 Awning, and the Joolca shower surround. Everything stored away for the winter. Probably won’t camp again till the late spring. It is warm enough in the winter here to do some, but just do t see it happening. If it does, it only takes about 30 minutes to reinstall...

Lower Bed Rack w/ Smaller Tent vs Higher Rack w/ Larger Tent

mines a ram long bed so nothing out there would touch my cab. I have 8’3” of bed length to play with. That’s why I went with Voodoo. They make an actual long bed rack. It’s 88” long. Plus it mounts into the track on my tonneau cover. I went with the 23Zero tent because of the light suppression...

Lower Bed Rack w/ Smaller Tent vs Higher Rack w/ Larger Tent

I have the voodo Fabrication max modular rack on my 2500 I have mine at cab height I think it’s an 18” by 88” since I have a long bed. I like the cab height so I can walk under my RTT and use the Annex. And with my 270 awning I wanted higher mounting to walk under. I’m 6’4 so it’s needed. A...

Do you "pack light" or heavy?

love it. I’m by no means saying women can’t hack what men can on a trip. Most women are way stronger mentally for sure, and when it’s tough going, they keep going. Ive been around a ton of big strong guys on trips that are huge moody baby’s Making everyone else miserable. Biggest thing for us...

Do you "pack light" or heavy?

exactly my point. My wife is by no means a princess. Works very hard, grew up minimalist canoe camping with her dad and brothers. But the happier and comfortable she is, means I’m more comfortable. Plus if she is having fun the more trips she wants to take. To the point of next year lake trips...
