There all pretty nice scenery. Twisted shoe is a good one, robbers roost is good. Marsical mine campsite has a good view of the mine. Like I said there all pretty scenic I still haven’t done them all.
Yeah the National Park was a mad house! I’ve never seen the primitive camping spots get full! I drove over to the state park and they had plenty of spots available. I think from now on I’m going there. Just a lot more trails to explore. I’ve done all the ones at the National Park.
Just got back from Big Bend Ranch State Park nice and quiet there. The National Park was packed. Lot of the roads at the state park are more challenging I think that’s why it’s not that busy with regular vehicles. Seen a lot of fj’s
Persimmon gap Is where I use to get them, but last few times they’ve been closed when I get to the park so I’ve been getting them at panther junction. I just think it’s because they’ve been short handed. And that’s getting there at 8ooam
I’ve stayed at glen springs 2. 1 is always taken up. 2 has a good view of what I call the Mexican lights there just like the Marfa lights. Pretty crazy.
Only place ive seen a lot of people is in the basin and Rio grande village and the other place I can’t think of. I always camp in the back roads of the park.
I always carry extra. Better safe then sorry. It also depends on how many days you stay.
Ok I can probably make it the weekend your going just keep me posted if you’re going for sure.
I always carry extra. Better safe then sorry. It also depends on how many days you stay. Panther junction is the closest place to get fuel in the park but they can also be out. I always get fuel in marathon or alpine just in case.
I was thinking the 18th -21st of January. The campsites that I camp at are first come first serve in the primitive areas through out the park. You can stay at the basin and I can meet up with you.
Yes, definitely still too hot. I usually start going in October. I’ve always done the tent set up. My set up is under 2 minute and take down in the same. And far as I know dogs are a okay at the National park.
