Well the skid plates were made and picked them up on Friday. I painted them with a light coat of silver to keep the rust off but also so they would show up in the pictures. It is a 2 Piece 3/16" Cold Rolled Steel.
Back from powder coat and ready to be bolted up. I intentionaly used all of the stock mounting locations for the stock bumper and stock hitch. I figured that this would already be the strongest point in the frame and less work to do on my part. Haha, just lazy like that! I don't have any good...
So here is the tentative plan for the truck some things have changed since I made this But it is still pretty close to where I want it to go. The Idea is to beable to go to the arctic circle and back from Arizona through Alaska.
Okay now back to the rear bumper build... It is now time to cut...
Then I got around to putting in my SS grille and I think it looks great. Spent about three and a half hours out in the 110* heat of AZ to put it in but was definitely worth the sweat. I have no idea waited so long to put it on because it looks better on the truck rather than sitting in the...
Now the big goodies came to help make the lift stand out more. I purchased 17” KMC XD Addicts (Painted) and wrapped them with 265/70/R17 Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo2’s. The wheels were ordered from tirerack.com and the tires were bought and installed at Costco.
Went to the first annual 355...

Hey I have been wanting to do that trail for some time now as well! I also live here in Tucson! You said that the highway noise wasn't bad, but what A/T tire did you move from? I am running the 33" KO2's and will be moving to a 35" after the front SAS. How does the Highway noise compare? I do...
I am loving the rig photos especially the ones with plowing through water crossings! we don't get many water crossings here in AZ haha. What winch do you have and how do you prevent water ingress with it?
That Muffler looked like it was in some serious pain towards the end of it's life. It's great to see the progression of the fabrication work go from simple to complicated and functional as the front bumper revisions progressed! Did you have the projectors custom made?
Loving the bead lock wheels:hearteyes:. I see that you did the install yourself, but where did you get them balanced? I have heard most tire shops won't touch Bead locks.
