Leaving Sedona this morning. Rain every day and all last night. Headed home. Been gone 2 weeks! May. Ot seem like much but this was our initial "shake down" of the new Jeep, our equipment and us! Just 2 old people that never left home for more than a week at a time. We have enjoyed every minute.
Today, I earned my 4th Jeep Honor Trail badge! Bridgeport, TX, Gold Mountain and John Bull in Big Bear, CA and today, Schnebly Hills Trail in Sedona , AZ.
Currently camping near Sedona, AZ. Will drive Schnebly Hills Trail tomorrow. Campsite is great and has excellent Cell and Internet. Primitive, secluded spot in the forest. Find it by searching for me, W5FPK-12, at aprs.fi
Big Bear campsite was closed but did run the Gold Mountain and John Bull trails! I am sore today! Resting in SoCal for a day or so before heading to Sedona.
Please follow me if you like via APRS.fi. I am W5FPK -12 and -7. If I'm near you, reach out and maybe we can have a cup of coffee or a beer. I'll be monitoring 146.52 and digital comms on openquad.net.
About 2 weeks ago I decided to pursue adventure seriously. I traded my 2005 Chevy Avalanche Z71 for a 2020 Jeep JLU Rubicon. 3" lift and 35" tires. I feel much more capable now. Maiden voyage begins in 3 days! From Ft Worth, TX will soend Thursday night in Grants, NM then off for 2 nights in AZ
Getting my "new to me" 2020 Jeep Rubicon 4 door, JLU, this morning. It already has a 3"lift and 35" tires. Anxious to do a few more upgrades and hit the trail!
Same here! I have commitments on the first Saturday morning of each month but open otherwise. Also, planning on a trip with some friends, not all have 4WD, in January. Destination is 400 - 500 mile radius of DFW. Looking for suggestions. Finally, is there a way to "subscribe" to this group...
Maybe I've been looking in the wrong area. I'm new, in North Richland Hills, and looking for scheduled meetups. Attended 1 over the Summer in NRH but haven't seen any more posted. Suggestions?
Sorry, newbie here. Are there any regularly scheduled meetups in the DFW area of TX? I attended one several months ago in North Richland Hills but have not been able to find one since.

Thanks!
