Poll: When you camp, do you normally have cell service?

Where I like to go (CA/NV/AZ/UT) camping/hiking mostly no cell service. I carry a Garmin Inreach Mini to update family of my status and for any emergency. I have Sirius/XM in my truck to keep me company while traveling and stay current with news. If you have cell service it means you are too...

    Ecoflow Delta 2

ECOFLOW support has been very responsive, no issues with them. Except for the failures with the Delta 2, I would recommend the Delta 2.

    Ecoflow Delta 2

I purchased the ECOFLOW Delta 2 with the 400W solar panel in January 2023. The unit failed in April on a camping trip to Death Valley. Would not recharge from either AC/DC/Solar. Shipped the unit back to ECOFLOW and received a refurbished unit. This month August on a camping trip to Mt Whitney...

    Portable heater

Another issue with the Buddy Heater Mini is they don't seem to work well at high altitude >11000ft. Had no issues at Mahogany Flats 8200ft or Grandview 8600ft, wouldn't light at White Mountain Peak trailhead 11680ft. In CA very rare to camp above 10000ft so not really an issue.

Poll: When you camp, do you normally have cell service?

Most of the places I camp/hike are remote with no cellular service. It's nice to have service but I usually solo camp/hike and I like the solitude. I always file a travel plan with the family, and have a Garmin InReach Mini for daily tracking when driving. I send out updates when I start my...

    Tacoma Flat Tire Question.

Thx. Next flat I will be taking a lot more time to personally check the tire and rim to determine cause.

    Tacoma Flat Tire Question.

When they replaced the tire the flat was checked, so I assume the valve stem was ok. The new tire is using the same valve stem. The flat was not a slow leak. The TPMS went off at the same time as I felt the tire go flat. I was traveling at ~15MPH. The TPMS showed 32PSI on the 3 good tires. Thx....

    Tacoma Flat Tire Question.

I asked America's Tire to check the flat and see what failed. They told me they aired it up and checked for leaks and found none. I replaced the wheel locks with regular lugs. So the next flat I will look more carefully at the tire for damage. Perez Tire told me that they use a socket and impact...

    Tacoma Flat Tire Question.

Popping the bead seems like the only possible reason. I read that I should be careful if I air down, but didn't think it was possible with fully inflated tires. Especially since the road was just a rocky gravel fire road. Hopefully the new tires will flex less and not have this issue. Thx...

    Tacoma Flat Tire Question.

While 2 miles out from White Mountain Peak trailhead (first time driving off-road at 11,000') my stock 2021 Tacoma Pro with 30K miles got a right front completely deflated tire. I was not aired down. Discovered I did not have the wheel lock key and hitched a ride back to Big Pine. Returned with...

Hi All, I live in the Southbay area of SoCal. I just purchased a 2021 Tacoma TRD Pro. I plan to keep it as stock as possible. I enjoy camping and hiking and hope to get to more challenging places that I didn't want to take my 2010 Honda Pilot 4WD. Our first trip last week was to Death Valley...
