I can definitely relate. With starting a new job about 16 months ago and some challenges in my personal life, the great outdoors has been given less priority. I also am trying to
Get back some me time and get out more in 2024.
I hope you have a great holiday and hope to see you out there.
Thanks Buddy! I am trying to! Just so much going on. Look at me already making excuses!
I realize that I need to buckle down. Maybe I need to expand the team!
Some say, "Why does it take so long to build a rig?" Well, it's the little things, like waiting a week for the proper bolts! I ordered what I thought were the correct bell housing bolts, only to learn the some NV4500's were a 3/8"x16 and some were an M12x1.75. So, I had to wait another week for...
It is in real good shape. The floors were patched at some point. not the way I would have done it but it works. Also, there is some rust bubbling through on the driver front fender near the bottom which is pretty normal. I will cut that out down the road once I get it driving.
Thanks Wildcat! I really hope I motivate others to take on challenges and maybe learn a new skill. Granted I’m a welder by trade but I still had to learn it.
Glad you are enjoying the story. I can’t wait to row this thing into gear and run her down a dirt road!

Hey all, Its been a while. I finally got around to mocking up the engine cross member and got it installed in the rig. Here are some pics of that process.
Started by making the plates that mounted to the engine.
Then I set the engine angle and getting the cross member as close to level as...
Started a list to keep me focused. At the very least it will help remind me of what I still need to get ordered. The next 8 weeks will be very busy at work, so ordering parts will have to count as progress.
Had the perfect weather over the weekend for pulling the engine. Had to pull the tires to get the front low enough for the oil pan to clear the radiator core support.
A blank canvas!
Hey Paul,
Welcome to the Crew. I think I wonder what's down that dirt road monthly. I am pretty sure that we all need to make more time to wander.
Great photos, Overlanding and Photography are great companion hobbies!
I apologize for not making it out to juniper. Had intentions of being there, then life interjected.
My boy is moving this Saturday, if we get done I will be there!
Didn't realize you overhanded the ISS! lol. Looks cool.
