Steve and Toni Williams, Salem IN, 50 and 47.
16 Jeep JK. Have an M416 trailer that we use to haul our gear.
Love to run around for long weekends and try to take a bigger trip about ever other year.
I need some help. I have a Jeep JK and am installing an inverter. I want to have an exterior electrical connection but prefer not to have an RV style plug. Does anyone know of some good “waterproof” / “weatherproof” 120V connections that I can use? I thought I saw someone one here that had...
I am in the process of building a touch panel relay control system and am starting from scratch. I don't like the ones available on the market because of how I want the system to work. Picky, I know. I have figured out that I can use a Raspberry PI computer to control the custom relay system...
Hi, My name is Steve Williams and my wife is Toni. I am 48 and have been playing in the great outdoors since knee high to a grasshopper. I don't think I could survive if I couldn't get out into the wilderness and just breathe. I am a Design Engineer for IDSolutions in Noblesville and develop...
This might take some good old fashioned homemade engineering but try the following: find a small trailer and take the bed off of it - get some marine grade wood and build a box for the frame - order a small camper door and window - paint the box with some high quality paint - build the interior...
Glad to see you made it home NewYork! Had a blast out there with everyone. Hope to see you again! It was great riding and talking with you. Below is Camp 5.
Something to keep in mind when considering types of tires: I recently attended a rally in Eastern Tennessee where it rained during the entire rally. Eastern Tennessee is very beautiful but also very mountainous. On the gravel roads the A/T tires did just fine but when we left the access roads...
I have an RTIC 20 and 65. I keep the RTIC 20 in my Jeep for the days supplies - water, sandwiches, snacks, etc. The 65 is where I keep the trips supplies and reload the 20 at the end of each day from it. For long weekend trips I think the 45 will probably do fine but the 65 is family growth...
I'll be there too. Seems like the weather is going to be a pain but that is what Overlanding is all about. As best I can tell there are 5 camping areas. Let's pick out a camping site and setup an OB base camp. Anyone familiar with the property want to suggest a site?
Just a quick update. I have been doing some research on the topic and have found out a few things: The National Parks have really good information on what is allowed (Thanks Chris Jones). From there I researched a number of approved manufacturers and ran across Zarges Aluminum Cases. They...
Installed a front stubby bumper kit, 2.5" lift, M/T MTZ P3 tires, Black Rhino wheels, Smittybilt cargo rack on trailer, Vector dash accessory bar, Bad Elf GPS, Ram Mounts for all the equipment. Busy weekend.

I do not have specific experience with them, but I saw the Hercules Reps and products at The Great Jeep Invasion last year in Gatlinburg TN. Tires looked really nice and our conversation concerning construction was good. I wouldn't be afraid to try them at all.

Thought you folks might enjoy watching the transformation of an old M416 Trailer
Poor old girl. I have had her for over 20 years and it was time to put some TLC into her.
Taken apart and ready for sanding. That's Leo guarding the build. Oh, ignore my driveway, it takes a beating...
My wife and I are heading to the Tennessee Mountains in April. The camp site we are staying at does not have bear proof boxes to put your food in. Soooooo, anyone have any dry box manufacturers they recommend or home builds they suggest? The boxes will be kept in my military trailer in the...
Well I feel stupid and I didn't mean to hijack your thread. I called an RV dealership about 40 miles from me. They said as long as its DOT approved they will refill. Story again about hijacking your conversation.
