Thanks man! And the main difference for the sound deadening is actually the temperature in the interior! The trans tunnel is a lot cooler and so is the roof. I also do not not need so much voolume on my radio now! I bought the thickest stuff I could fiind and I have been happy with it for sure...
Moving on with the build... now that I had a functioning Jeep with NO RUST (that was a big deal) and a complete fresh suspenion I wanted to tackle a few more areas of concern before my trip to North Carolina and Tennessee. Those areas were the cooling and braking systems. Due to my upcoming trip...
Mine is sitting on the IRO 3-Link long arm kit and I agree 100% with the frame stiffeners. That would a lot as this kit has rediculous flex. (See above metal cloak trailer pics lol) I fully plan on welding in frame stiffeners in the hopefully near future.
I have owned both a 97 and 01 cherokee (currently building the 97) I don’t think the 97 header will fit the 01! The 01 has the 2 piece manifold with 2 extra O2 sensors in it. But other than that a few other minor things everything fits which is the great part about XJ’s!
Thanks man! I would say it is a little quieter. But the biggest improvement is the interior temps. The trans tunnel used to get quite hot on long drives and make my legs sweat. That hasn’t happened since! And with it being a black jeep the roof used to get very hot too and that is a lot better...
Next up in the build process was to reinstall the interior after the rockers and lift were installed. Before I put it all back together I wanted to add a few more things to the interior to improve it for highway driving. The first thing I did was pull the headliner and install sound deadening. I...
Thanks! I believe they measure out to somewhere around a 30 inch. I have plans for going to 32’s or 33’s just didn’t feel like dropping the cash right after the lift.
Here are a few pictures of it being flexed out on a Metal Cloak RTI trailer! It scored a 690 on the trailer and a 808 of the RTI ramp. Very impressive for a Cherokee!
Once the rockers were completed it was finally time to fix the suspension and install a lift kit. I decided to go all out on the suspention as I wanted something that would be comfortable on the highway as well as capable on the trails! I ended up going with a long arm lift which was a difficult...
Welcome! And thank you! There’s a lot more updates on the way... I’m just trying to catch up now haha mine is currently running a 5 inch Iron Rock Off-road long arm kit! But the tire carrier is just a good old smittybilt. It holds a hi lift jack and a gas can no problem. The license plate mount...
Here is a great visualization of how we completed one of the dogleg replacement. We utilized a dogleg out of a totaled rusted free cherokee and grafted it on to my cherokee. Turned out great!
If you have any questions on the process let me know!
It's been a very long time since I have done an update on this forum and it's time to get that done! I have been very busy with the Jeep and I have been the most productive with the build than ever before. To start off, I had the opportunity to finally get the Jeep in a friends shop of mine to...
Thanks man! I am finally through college and have started my career so watch this thread as it will soon get a lot better! Starting with a new lift! Also, have you had many issues with your renix? I've heard many stories about renix jeeps haha
Oh good to know on the battery... my next battery will be an odyssey for sure. Optima just does not seem to cut it. They emailed me saying the red top was not designed OR warriented for use in a vehicle with a winch. Which to me seems ridiculous when the red top is also an AGM.
As far the S10...
