interesting read, unfortunate events, teaching moment

First things first. This is not my rig, nor did I have any part in the recovery. I was following the posts and thought it was an interesting read, also if anyone who reads this is planning on running the Swisha Loop... this section of trail is currently impassable ( there is a noted bypass but...

My DIY offroad utility (base camp) trailer

So I have been planning different aspects of this build for a fairly long time and have finally started building it. I started out by making some drawings up to get an idea of materials used and a rough finished weight ( guesstimation before getting to far in and realizing it's way too heavy...

    SHOW ME YOUR STICKERS!!!

Got this idea from another thread. I assume there are some pretty awsome/funny stickers on some of our vehicles. Let's show them off. Here's one of mine.

    Suspension options

Ok, so I have a whole whack of parts and all kinds of ideas for trailer builds but can't decide on what would be best for a trailer that will likely be taken both on and off road .... I have a 2000 lb straight axle, a set of 2000lb leafs as well as 3500 lb leafs, and 2000 lb torsion axles ...

    The Gathering -Muskoka

Hey just wondering if there will be anyone here going to the OverlandNTH Muskoka gathering. I will be there with my compass likely as the TJ is in need of repairs and waiting on parts that I doubt will show up before the event.

How do you transport your fishing rod?

For those who do a lot of fishing on trips, how do you transport your rods? up until recently I did a lot of shore fishing for fun and usually packed a cheap telescopic rod and if it broke it wasn't a big deal. Over the years I have tried fitting rods across the roof inside the vehicle, or down...

Rc cars to keep kids occupied ( and me)

Well I finally decided to get some cheap rc crawlers from Amazon. 1 for me and 1 for my son. He seems to like them and I enjoy the fact that they actually power all 4 tires and can crawl. Does anybody else have rc cars to fiddle with?

What does everyone use for water storage?

Hey, so I usually use a 5 gallon Reliance AquaPak for storing water but I hate lugging the thing around campgrounds to refill it and it usually only gets me about 2 -3 days off grid. So I am interested in seeing what everyone else uses for vehicle or trailer/camper ( I know most campers will...

Dual battery question ( equipment based)

So I was given this unit but I don't know too much about it. Doesn't anyone know if I would need an extra solenoid or any other components to run hook this up to power an auxiliary battery?

DIY folks? what have you used for drawer sliders!?

Hello! I am in need of advice about drawer sliders. I plan on putting a slider in the back of my LJ with possibly another mounted above. I tend to have a roof basket mounted in the back and the cooler gets strapped to that with a CO2 tank and some clothes, underneath is usually spare parts...

How do you prefer to travel abroad?

I am curious how most do their international travels. Do you ship your vehicle with you? do you rent while abroad? My vehicles aren't worth shipping around the world so we tend to rent while we are in other countries. This also gives us a chance to try other vehicles or experience new to us...

Ontario, Canada: out for a wander

Went out with the wife today and explored a bit of our own backyard. There are a ton of waterfalls in our area and plenty of hiking trails so we hit some of those. Since we are still in lockdown we aren't really supposed to travel outside our own area so we figured it's a good time to explore a...

    Looking for VMUTS info

Hey, I am wondering who has been to VMUTS and if they could maybe give me some guidance. I have a small rig ( Compass Trailhawk) and I am wondering if it would be capable enough to get out there and explore or if a large vehicle is required. Thanks in advance.
