I hope we connect! Didn't realize you were on OB. My wife and I watch your YouTube channel and love it. Whenever there's a new video we watch it. We've got three young daughters and you give us hope of overlanding with young ones.

Agreed! When you mean leadership do you mean Michael and Corrie? Could be awesome if it got promoted and people got behind it. I'm sure I've got a bunch of stuff I don't need/want that would have value to someone. If others did the same, could be a free way to get stuff you've been needing/wanting.
This is a cool idea. I've got a set of front and rear Teraflex 9550 shocks for a 2" lifted JKU that have about 500 miles on them that I don't need. Will look and see if there's other stuff.
It appears to lake to camp on-site so will need to camp and drive in, I think. Never been to Expo West before, but looking forward to it. Does anyone know how "forest" parking works? Is it dispersed and you just find an available spot or is there more to it than that?
Thanks, this is super helpful! I've had a hard time understanding what does and doesn't fit for the 470. Even though it's essentially a 4Runner in many ways, I'm worried I'd buy the wrong parts. Plus the rear air bags just throw more confusion in the mix.
When ditching the rear airbags, do you...
I had 5100s on my JKU. Not sure if you posted but can you post what you purchased for your GX? I've got a GX as well and would like to convert front and rear to new springs and probably 5100s. Did you have to purchase a "conversion kit" to replace the rear airbags?

I'm subscribing to this thread! Just picked up a used 2006 GX460 this past weekend with 121k miles on it. I've had my eye on a 4R / GX470 for a few months now, and finally ditched my JKUR as it just wasn't enough space for the family and I was tired of white knuckling it every time there was a...
I can totally relate -- our girls are 2, 4, and 7, so they are somewhat limited by what they are able (and willing) to do. We're planning on breaking our trip to and from Kentucky (from Iowa) into 2 days of about 4-5 hours each day. Where in Alabama are you heading?
Thanks for checking. We ended up deciding to "ease" into it a bit. My uncle and his family live in Kentucky. I haven't seen them in years and my daughters have never met them so we're going to make a trip out of it. We're planning on doing some pretty tame camping at a KOA or two. The last time...
Looking nice, love the color! How'd you get blue fenders? Did you have your stock fenders painted or are those off of a Sahara?

Had a chance to get out and do some wheeling and these tires gripped super well. I was holding my own with guys who were running MTs, no issues with traction whatsoever in mud, very steep dirt inclines, etc.

I've got a 2016 JKUR that came stock with KM2 tires, overall decent although I wanted to step up to 35s. Did so with 35x12.5x17 KO2s (E rated) on stock wheels running 1.5" wheel spacers. They were very quiet and smooth but I found them quite stiff (hit road imperfections hard even when aired...
We haven't done our first Overland trip yet, but are preparing. Right now timing isn't great but come Spring should be about ideal so we're preparing now. My wife is also my primary adventurer and has really shown a lot of interest. Our challenge is that we have three young daughters (1, 4, and...
