I don't disagree with you at all. I'm just trying to understand people's experience with the product during the fire ban. When we were out a few weeks ago (sans campfire) I did notice that some people were using them seemingly without any issue from the rangers. Just wanted to better...
In the interest of not fighting through I-70 traffic this summer season we've started to expand our horizons for quick weekend camp trips. I haven't been through Vedauwoo or Medicine Bow in over 20 years and wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations or tips for dispersed camping in the...
I've been hearing differing opinions on the matter and thought it best to throw my question out to the internet. Colorado has a number of counties and national forests currently under stage one fire restrictions. During a stage one restriction, can you still use a portable propane fire ring...
I haven't logged into OverlandBound in quite some time and missed the invite. I appreciate you putting this together. Seems like everyone enjoyed the meetup.
I actually just signed up for the $12 a year with Traildamage and was relatively impressed with their recent website update. Trailsoffroad does a great job of giving you a view of other trails in proximity to an area you're researching as well.
Guanella pass is an easy drive and offers...
Charles Wells also has a Guide to Northern Colorado Backroads and 4x4 Trails that has a good rundown of areas close to the Front Range and near Fort Collins. I actually just ordered it this morning (random) but I've always been happy with his work in the past. There are also a number of good...
I left Moab the Sunday that goneMOAB started this year. As a recovering Xterra owner (I miss my last truck all the time!) it was great to see so many good looking Nissan rigs coming into the area. Looks like a good time!
I'm pretty sure they make almost any trip look better. If I had one, I'd film myself driving to the gas station....pair that with some dramatic music and Youtube famous here I come!
I appreciate the information. I checked with him again last night and he is a bit more on the fence regarding the trip due to work. We will see if he still plans to head out. Thanks for the help!
We are heading out to Moab for the weekend but I have a buddy that is only able to join us halfway through and will need to park his car Friday night through Sunday morning. Does anyone have any recommendations for a lot or area where they wouldn't get a ticket or towed?
That is a great book! I've been out to Moab once or twice but it has been quite a few years. I'm driving a 1996 Land Rover Discovery. We had pulled a permit for a night on the White Rim Trail but I'm expecting that we'll have to pivot due to the springtime flooding on the west side of the...
Don't know if you're back on the grid yet but was wondering how the Kokopelli trail went for you and your rig. Looking to head out to Moab in a few weeks hoping to run the White Rim but I know there is a chance it could be flooded out. Always looking for alternatives.
Thanks,
Interior looks great too. There are some groups here in Colorado that will be up on the trails quite often. I'm sure if you search around in the regional forum there will be some additional notices. Best of luck and thank you for the service.
