    Massachusetts Sound Off!

Hey folks, moved to Boston (Brookline / Newton) from Arizona and excited to explore more around here, especially overnights. Driving a Toyota Sequoia. :grinning: Also! If I could sneak in a question - where around here do folks get help with upgrades/electrical/troubleshooting? A friend...

We got to play up in Flagstaff a bit in the snow, but it wasn't a lot and is pretty much gone now. Cinders OHV area was great in the snow tho!

@Billygoat Rocklanding we ended up headed to the 50-truck (!) Butcher Jones run, which was fun but the kids complained about all the bouncing and we didn't complete it. Lesson learned, I guess. We were intending to head North for the clean-up but didn't have time. Did you go and how was it?

@Billygoat Rocklanding I'm aiming to be there, but around noon. If you're there love to say hello.

CB and GMRS radios sharing mounts & mics (not antennas)

That's super useful thank you! Great to know.

CB and GMRS radios sharing mounts & mics (not antennas)

Why you gotta muddy the waters? All was so clear! hahah I have a scanner (doesn't transmit) that could listen for the other radio I guess, but seems simpler to just have the two. I'd hate to nuke a radio by transmitting without an antenna. Update! Got the GMRS all setup today (ghost...

Dec 13th: If anyone was thinking of doing this run with that AZ Sequoia group (anyone is welcome!), the location is moved. Let me know if you want to go and I'll PM you more details (it's posted in a private group...) Dec 6th (Sunday): I'm aiming to run Butcher Jones with 50 (!) other people...

CB and GMRS radios sharing mounts & mics (not antennas)

Great stuff guys, thanks so much. I'll go with two separate antennas. For mics, if they happen to work out then great, but otherwise I'll use two there also. Can just try and see. (And I won't expect much)

CB and GMRS radios sharing mounts & mics (not antennas)

New to overlanding and offroading, and now tackling comms. I bought both types of radios. Now figuring out what goes where. I'm thinking if I'd only need one type of radio at a time (true? false?) then I could: Mount both radios side by side They could share an antenna mount They could...

    GMRS questions

@OTH Overland v cool to hear that tucking it away can work. I just picked up a GMRS radio and am thinking of where to mount it. Putting it inside the center console (2019 Sequoia, it's huge) seems good if I won't have to fiddle with it one we're en-route. Should people worry about great build-up?

Great to meet you @kyle.d.higgins I'd love to hit some trails sometime. Sundays are best for me. There's a run on Sunday Dec 13th in a local AZ Toyota Sequoia's group (but others welcome!) that's geared to beginners, but the trail is rated "moderate" and I think you need off-road tires at...

Brad I checked out AZLRO and it looked great at some point, but sadly it doesn't look active anymore, at least not their forums. Last post for trip planning is almost 3 years old, and most recent post on any topic is a month ago. I think OB might be the most active forum, though not as active...

Awesome. Thanks for starting this thread! I wonder if creating an official AZ Rally Point / event might be good for lighting up AZ. What do you think?
